According to Christy Daniels (photo above), "Americans eat 100 acres of pizza each day."  Downtown Pizza may be the best kept secret in town for getting your pizza fix.  They opened in December at 227 S. Main Street in Thiensville without a lot of fanfare, but the response has been very positive.  Downtown Pizza utilizes quality ingredients, and the pizzas are made fresh to order.  They make their own crust and the cheese is grated by hand every day.  They plan to have a Grand Opening sometime this summer.  In the meantime, watch for the Dancing Tomato out front.  Be sure and say hello, as he is a special needs student that loves what he does.  They want to be active in the community and are looking to hire high school students or college students from the area.

The Thiensville location currently carries a selection of premium ice creams from Milwaukee’s Purple Door, Sassy Cow and Cedar Crest, but soon they hope to make their own ice cream.  The menu includes chicken wings, salads, and pasta dishes, craft beers, and wine in addition to pizzas.  The new location also allows for the expansion of their fledgling catering business, Catering Craftsmen. This area of the business isn’t limited to Downtown Pizza’s Italian- influenced menu.  You can see their menu at: downtownpizza.net
