First we had the Cub Scout leaders, Todd Risthe (sic) and Pastor Tom Stark with an update on the troop and an invitation to a bike ride on October 2nd. Secondly, Dan Bieser of Tabal with an engaging explanation of the process create chocolate and we has samples! Dan showed us several pictures of the growers he works with and passed around not only the aforementioned samples but also a raw cacaco pod. Tabal is a Mayan word for 'relationship'. Interesting facts: most chocolate comes from Africa and the plants only grow within 20 degrees of the equator.
