Our guest speaker Tuesday, March 3, is Todd Gordon, a lifelong history enthusiast and current vice prdsident of the Wisconsin Marine Historical Society's Board of Trustees. He will share the story of the SS Eastland, a passenger steamer that capsized in the Chicago River July 24, 1915, resulting in the larges loss of life in Great Lakes shipping history. Todd will also challenge us to find out what many disparate people and things have to do with this vessel. So pay attention, because on the surface it is diffult to find commonality among mashed potatoes, the Denis Sullivan, George Halas, Clarence Darrow, Ernie Pyle, and Oprah Winfrey, among others.
