Originally from Georgia, Barbara Thompson spent her childhood surrounded by agriculture. Her mother's family still owns a large farm in Greene County, a legacy that likely influenced her father's career path as an agriculture and physics teacher. Now residing in Mequon, Wisconsin, Barbara enjoys a life filled with family (two sons and six grandchildren!), travel adventures, peaceful moments spent gardening, and getting lost in a good fiction novel.

"I am looking forward to being more involved in events that help people in this
community and abroad. I am particularly interested in programs impacting children and
Veterans. My Father was a WWII Veteran and war hero. And I was a foster parent for almost ten
years. Children have always been a focus of mine in terms of improving their lives and future
career pathways." -Barbara Thompson
